Day 1:  Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft above sea level), transfer to hotel

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m / 2,690 ft) 6-7 hours

Day 3: Drive to Hile (2.5hours) and trek to Ulleri (2,050 m / 6,726 ft) 5-6 hours

Day 4: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,860 m / 9,383 ft) 6-7 hours

Tharpu Chuli (Tent) Peak Climbing Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft) and transfer to hotel

Welcome to Nepal Himalaya! We will meet at Kathmandu airport and transfer you to your hotel.The Kathmandu is a vibrant capital city of Nepal. You will observe the bustling streets and  alley with the aromas of local cuisine and the vibrant colors of traditional attire.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m / 2,690 ft) 7-8 hours

We take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, enjoying beautiful views along the Trishuli River. Leaving behind the bustling streets of Kathmandu, we pass through lush landscapes with green hills with terraced fields and traditional villages. The Trishuli River is popular for white water rafting.

Day 3: Drive to Hile (2.5hours) and trek to Ulleri (2,050 m / 6,726 ft) 5-6 hours

We drive to Hile. After Hile, we hike to Ulleri via Tikhedhunga village. We cross the Bhurungdi River and upward trail with thousands steps and boulders to reach Ulleri village

Day 4: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,860 m / 9,383 ft) 4-5 hours

After breakfast, we start hike ascending towards Ghorepani. We pass waterfalls, small villages, and tea-houses before reaching Ghorepani. The name Ghorepani in Nepali means ‘horse-water’. We stop at the higher part of the Ghorepani village called Deurali, that offers wonderful views of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Nilgiri mountains.

Day 5: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani (2,630 m / 8,630 ft) 7-8 hours

We will reach Poonhill before sun rising. Poon hill is popular visitor’s park Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalaya range. We can observe the deepest George between too high mountains Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We can see many mountains, valleys, ridges and forest from Poonhill. After enjoying there, we return back to Ghorepani. After breakfast in Ghorepani, we trek to Tadapani.

Day 6: Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,170 m / 7,120 ft) 5-6 hours

The trail descends all the way to Kimrong River. After crossing the river by suspension bridge, we hike more uphill and downhill to reach our destination Chhomrong. Chhomrong a beautiful village lies on the lap of Annapurna South Mountain.

Day 7: Chhomrong to Dovan (2,600 m / 8,530 ft) 5-6 hours

We will leave Chhomrong after breakfast, and walk down steps on stone paved to the Chhomrong Khola, river. We cross a suspension bridge over the river and begin an uphill climb to Sinuwa. Our trail passes through a beautiful forest and thick bamboos bushes. Today we enter to the special managed zone Annapurna Sanctuary.

Day 8: Dovan to Deurali (3,230 m / 10,597 ft) 4-5 hours

We walk to Deurali through Himalaya. Deurali is located at the bottom of big cliff. Today we have to walk mostly gradual up and very short down. We will enjoy with forest, waterfall, Hinku Cave, birds and animals.

Day 9: Deurali to Annapurna Base camp (4,130 m / 13,550 ft) 5 - 6 hours

We have to walk 3 hour to get Machhapuchre Base Camp (MBC). There is possibility of avalanche if heavy snow there, so we have to be careful. Machhapuchre base camp is nice and beautiful place. We can see many mountains. Now we have more 400m ascent to get ABC, about 2 hours walk from MBC. ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) is beautiful place surrounded by mountain. We can see bottom to top part of Annapurna I, many mountains, glacier, memorials and flags. There is recently build memorial statue of Maurice Herzog, the first Annapurna I climber.

Day 10: Acclimatization at Annapurna Base Camp

A necessary acclimatization day at Annapurna base camp, here our guide will brief and inform with you some techniques, skills, for the climb to Tent Peak, with time to relax and prepare for the next day and marvel the surrounding mountain views.

Day 11: Trek to Tent Peak Base Camp (4,450 m) 5-6 hours

After a enjoyable time at Annapurna Base Camp our route leads to cross several moraine rocky path and icy trail for an hour reaching Annapurna south glacier. The climb over moraine and glacier offers stupendous views of high peaks, then after few hours of climb reaching for base camp, a first night camping, preparation for the big day to climb Tent peak in the afternoon.

Day 12: Trek to High Camp 5,200 m – 4-5 hours

We have allowed one more camp to make it accessible for this tough climb of Tent Peak, walking beyond with steep climb on rocky and icy glacier, and then the climb reaches to set high camp at 5,200 meters, afternoon at leisure, relax and preparation for the big climb next early morning.

Day 13: Climb Tent Peak summit and return to Base Camp (5,663 m)  8-9 hours

The highlight and aim of this great adventure starting very early before dawn and then climbing on snow and icy slopes, which is quite steep with technical part to reach the summit of Tent Peak or Tharpu Chuli (5,663 m); our guide will make the route fixing ropes where necessary for this great climb to the top, after the final ascend to the top of the summit with great spirit and feeling high, marvel the surrounding overwhelming views and descend back to base camp.

Day 14: Trek back to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 m / 12,140 ft) 6 – 7 hours

Having a wonderful time in massif of rocks, ice and snow area, after breakfast cleaning the base camp and packing the equipments, retraces the walk back to Annapurna Base Camp on the same route. We further retrace the trail to Machhapuchhre Base Camp for overnight.

Day 15: Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Sinuwa (2,310 m / 7,580 ft) 6-7 hours

Today, we back down following the same trail we had. The trail descends to the Sinuwa at 2,310 meters.

Day 16: Siunuwa to Jhinu (1,780 m / 5,840 ft) 5-6 hours

We trek to Chhomrong and then way descend to Jhinu. Jhinu is popular because of nearby natural hot spring.

Day 17: Trek to Siwai 1,460m and drive to Pokhara 800m, 04 hours for trekking, and 03 hours drive

We have reached our final day on the trekking trails. Today, you will make a pleasant hike along the Modi River. We reach Siwai and drive to Pokhara.

Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu, 200 kilometers /125 miles, 07 hours drive

Morning a scenic drive to Kathmandu, after a wonderful memorable trip in the high mountains of Annapurna area,  then on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotel.

Day 19: 6 UNESCO heritage sites tour in Kathmandu

Kathmandu Heritage Tour includes visits to various culturally and historically significant sites within the Kathmandu Valley. We will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhu (Monkey Temple), Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath and Boudha Stupa.

Q1: How difficult is Tent Peak Climbing?

Tent Peak Climbing is relatively harder and longer in duration than the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It is because trekkers will be climbing to the ultimate heights at 5,663 m / 18,579 ft. Travelers  require general technical training or rock climbing and mountaineering skills. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, and hiking are recommended before your journey.

Q2: What is the best time to do the Tent Peak Climbing?

The best months to do the Tent Peak Climbing trip is March, April, May, September, October and November. During these months, the weather is generally favorable with clear skies and mild temperatures, making for optimal climbing conditions and stunning mountain views.

Q3: Who are my Guides and Porters?

Our trekking and climbing guides are trained and hold a trekking and climbing guide license issued by the Nepalese government. All of our guides are local with a deep understanding of the mountains, culture, health and your safety. All of our guides are skilled, experienced, courteous and helpful. They are proficient in English and will be able to communicate effectively with you throughout the trip.

Q4: What type of Foods available during the trip?

You can get verity of meals including typical Nepali Dal Bhat (Rice, Curry and lentils), breads, noodles, soups, eggs, toast, potato varieties, pizza, pasta, burger items are common choices in the menu. Breakfast and dinner will be served from tea house or lodge where we stay overnight and lunch will be served on the way to next destination. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included during the trek.

Q5: What about Drinking Water?

Boiled water and safe drinking water options are available along the trekking route. We do not recommend you drink water from local sources such as taps, wells, and rivers.

Q6: What types of Accommodations available?

You will be accommodated in 4 or 3 star level hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara. During the trek, you will have a private room in guesthouses and lodges. You will get sleeping tent for nights. In some cases, during peak season, you need to share a room with others.

Q7: Do I need Travel Insurance?

Yes, it is necessary to have insurance to join this Tent Peak Climbing trip. Your insurance should cover cost of Helicopter rescue and treatment.

Q8: Do I need Day Backpack?

Yes, while porters can carry the majority of your belongings, it’s recommended to carry a small day backpack yourself. This backpack can hold essentials such as drinking water, snacks, sunscreen, camera, sunglasses and any other items you may need easy access to during the day hike.

Q9: Is there Porter Luggage Limit?

Yes, trekkers should note that the luggage limit for a porter is 20kg, and typically, there is one porter assigned for every two trekkers. It’s advisable to pack efficiently and within this weight limit to ensure ease of transportation during the trek.
