Pikey Peak (Everest View) Trek is a lower altitude trail in the Everest region. We will hike along the ridge and saddle, passing through colorful rhododendron, pine, and maple forests. Along the way, we can observe local Sherpa culture and the view of the long northern Himalaya range, from Kanchanjunga to Annapurna Mountain. Besides mountains, we can see yak farms, flora and fauna, hills, and different landscapes from the very first day to the last day. This Everest View trek is suitable for those who are unable to go to high altitudes because it is shorter in terms of duration, easier in terms of altitude, quieter in terms of the number of visitors, and cheaper. This is an off-the-beaten-trail through the Sherpa village, where we can see many traditional entities and the Everest view.
The highlights of the Pikey Peak Trek are the Everest view and the Sherpa village. The Pike Peak Trek starts from Dhap Bazaar. We will take a private vehicle from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar for a comfortable trip. Dhap is a beautiful and breezy mountain-view hill. Our trail descends to Sigane and ascends to Jhapre village, a small mountain-view point. After Jhapre, the trail gradually ascends along the ridge to Bhulbhule, Lamuje, and Pikey Base Camp. We hike to Pikey Peak for sunrise, valley view, and Mountain Views.
From Pike Peak, we can see Kanchenjunga Mountain (8,586 m / 28,170 ft) in the far east, Mt. Everest (8,848 m / 29,029 ft), Lhotse (8,516 m / 27,940 ft), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m / 27,766 ft), and Annapurna (8,091 m / 26,545 ft) in the far west.
During this trip, we will visit Junbesi village, a big Sherpa village. After Junbesi, we further climb to the popular monk and nun settlement Thupten Choling Monastery. We will observe the Buddhist religious practice of monks and nuns. Our trek ends at Phaplu, and we will drive or fly back to Kathmandu.
This Everest View trek is really suits for who are unable to go high altitude because this trek is shorter in terms of duration, easier in terms of altitude, quite in terms of number of visitors and cheaper. This is off the beaten trail through the Sherpa village. We can see much traditional entity and Everest view.

We will take private Scorpio from Kathmandu to Dhap. The road follows the Sunkoshi River until reaching Ghurmi. We will pass many settlements before reaching Dhap. We will see the local lifestyle.

This day we have to walk down along the dusty road leading to Sigane. From Sigane we have to ascend Jhapre. Jhapre is a small settlement. There are a few lodges and an old monastery.

We will have Mountain View early in the morning. Today we will continue our trek along a dusty road up to Bhulbule. From here, the trail becomes steep and ascends through the rhododendron and maple forests and small settlement areas of Lhamuje. In Lamuje there is new Stupa. We will see many yaks grazing on the pasture land. We will cross a long Mani wall and climb to Pikey Base Camp. We will visit the Yak Cheese Factory and can enjoy the wonderful view of the surrounding valley.

Today we hike early in the morning to the Pikey Peak (4,065 m). We can see Mt. Everest (8,848 m / 29,029 ft), Lhotse (8,516 m / 27,940 ft), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m / 27,766 ft), Gaurishanker (7,134 m / 23,405 ft), Ama Dablam (6,856m / 22,493 ft), Kangtenga (6,685 m / 21,932 ft), Thamserku ( 6,608 m / 21,680 ft), Kusum Khangaru (6,373 m / 20,908 ft), Mera Peak (6,476 m / 21,246 ft) and very close view of Numbur Himal (6,958 m / 22828 ft). Capturing the beautiful views, we will descend to Jase Bhanjyang.

We hike to Thupten choling Monastery. The trail ascends uphill along the Junbesi Khola to nun’s settlement. The Monastery demonstrates the depth insights of Buddhist practice. We can meditate together with monks and nuns.

Today you grab last minute shopping or other activities. We will drop you at the Kathmandu international airport 3 hours before your schedule flight. We will say goodbye with happy memories and hoping to see you again.
Pikey Peak Trek is relatively easier and shorter in duration than the Everest Base Camp Trek. It is because trekkers will be hiking to the ultimate heights 4,065 m / 13,337 ft at Pikey Peak. Trekkers do not require technical training and mountaineering skills but you need to be physically fitness to hike 6 to 8 hours daily. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, and hiking are recommended before your journey.
The best months to do the Pikey Peak Trek is January, February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December. During these months, the weather is generally favorable with clear skies and mild temperatures, making for optimal trekking conditions and stunning mountain views.
Our trekking guides are trained and hold a trekking guide license issued by the Nepalese government. All of our guides are local with a deep understanding of the mountains, culture, health and your safety. All of our guides are skilled, experienced, courteous and helpful. They are proficient in English and will be able to communicate effectively with you throughout the trip.
You can get verity of meals including typical Nepali Dal Bhat (Rice, Curry and lentils), breads, noodles, soups, eggs, toast, potato varieties, pizza, pasta, burger items are common choices in the menu. Breakfast and dinner will be served from tea house or lodge where we stay overnight and lunch will be served on the way to next destination. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included during the trek.
Bottled water, Boiled water and safe drinking water options are available along the trekking route. We do not recommend you drink water from local sources such as taps, wells, and rivers.
You will be accommodated in 3 star level hotel in Kathmandu. During the trek, you will have a private room in guesthouses and lodges. In some cases, during peak season, you need to share a room with others.
