Annapurna Sikles Trek

Annapurna Sikles trek is an outstanding destination to Annapurna region and Lamjung Himal area. This trek leads through many traditional Gurung villages.  Gurung people are recruited as brave Gurkha soldiers in UK, Singapore and Brunai.

On this trek, you can view from Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft), including to Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish-tail) at 6,997 m stretches up towards world’s 7^th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri 8,167 m and 08^th Mt. Manaslu at 8,163 m and more peaks across the horizon along with the striking sunrise from Sikles village viewpoints.

Annapurna Sikles trek is one of the most unique journey leading from warm subtropical, Mediterranean of mid hills to alpine climate zone, all these drastic change in temperature found only around south eastern Annapurna Himalaya region, this makes a drastic change in vegetations and its awesome scenery.

Annapurna Sikles trek Overview

Day 1:          Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft above sea level), transfer to hotel

Day 2:          Kathmandu valley sightseeing

Day 3:          Drive to Mardipul via Pokhara 1,010 m – 7 hrs

Day 4:          Trek to Khairpani 1,370 m – 5 hrs

Day 5:          Trek to Ghale Kharka 1, 810m -5 hrs

Day 6:          Trek to Nauli Kharka  2,550 m – 4 hrs

Day 7:          Trek to Sikles 2,030 m -5 hrs

Day 8:          Rest day at Sikles for local excursion

Day 9:          Trek and drive to Pokhara – 4 hrs

Welcome to Nepal Himalaya, we meet in Kathmandu airport and will be transferred to your hotel. Ace Hiking offers welcome dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at hotel, dinner included.

Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour will start after breakfast. The Kathmandu city alone holds four UNESCO world heritage sites. Heritage site tour includes the Pashupatinath temple, Boudha Stupa, Swoyambhu Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You will get opportunity to observe historical, religious and cultural aspect of Nepal. You will also see Nepalese architecture containing palaces, buildings, temples, Stupas, carving, mason and metal work. After the tour we will back to hotel. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Drive to Mardipul via Pokhara 950 m – 7 hrs

Pokhara is a beautiful touristic city with Mountain View. We will take tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara for 7 hours. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Trek to Khairpani 1,370 m – 5 hrs

The real walk begins from this rural village following Seti River upstream, passing small scattered farm village, walk continues crossing the river leading north east to Lhachok and Ghachok Gurung villages, from here on walking through nice farm area with well cultivated terraces and farm fields, after few downs’ and more ups reaching Khairpani for overnight camp.

Trek to Ghale- Kharka 1, 810 m – 5 hrs.

Beginning the morning walk with great views of Annapurna Himalaya the walk leads further North East after crossing a bridge over Seti River and then a short descend reaching a small settlement with hot springs by the Seti River, from here with short rest walk continues with a climb on stone paved steps with grand views of snow capped peaks and to a neat tidy Chyanglung village, from here walking to Sardi Khola with short descend and then a steep up through terraced fields and small farm to reach at Ghale Kharka for overnight stop after passing the village of Kyabrang.

Trek to Nauli Kharka 2,550 m – 4 hrs

Today’s walk leads to the highest point of this trek at Nauli Kharka at 2,550 meters altitude, at first the walk leads through mix dense woodlands of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees in this serene surrounding with awesome views of Annapurna mountains and Lamjung Himal, and slowly to a ridge which separates Seti River and Mardi River valley, an interesting area with thick vegetation this would be a good area for botanist and bird lovers to be in this pristine natural surroundings, walk continues with a climb towards a hill top at near 2,650 meters and following the ridge line and with slow down hill path to reach at Nauli Kharka, also known as Baradhara for overnight camp on this nice grassy summer grazing field.

Trek to Sikles 2,030 m – 5 hrs.

After catching the stunning views of Annapurna mountain range with Mt. Machhapuchhre peak including the whale shaped peak of Lamjung Himal towards east, morning walk on the thick forest area leading downhill to upper Mardi River and then crossing the suspension bridge, with steep winding climb for an hour to reach the hill top of Sikles village, and then the walk is pleasant all the way to Sikles, one of the largest Gurung village of eastern Annapurna and Lamjung area with men folks enlisted in the battalion abroad as Gorkha Regiment to the British and Indian army. The locals are mostly farmers and cattle herders by profession, Sikles located beneath the massif Lamjung Himal.

Rest day at Sikles for local excursion.

A full rest day in this lovely village where you can explore the village and interact with the villagers and join hand in farming for fun, the people here are of great hospitality as this area is famous for Wild Honey Hunting which was filmed on National Geographic documentary 20 years ago.

Trek and drive back to Pokhara – 4 hrs.

With a memorable and enjoyable time in Sikles, today a short walk to the road head for the drive to Pokhara, the drive leads on the rough dirt road passing several farm villages and then reaching the main local town of Pokhara and then continue drive towards Phewa lake side for the last night in the Annapurna area in the comfort of nice hotels.

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Morning a scenic drive to Kathmandu, after a wonderful memorable trip in the high mountains of Annapurna area, then on reaching Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure.

(Options to fly back to Kathmandu our staff will transfer you to Pokhara domestic airport for 30 minutes scenic flight to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu meet our staff and then transfer back to respective hotels).

International departure

Today you grab last minute shopping or other activities. We will drop you at the Kathmandu international airport 3 hours before your schedule flight. We will say bye-bye with happy memories and hoping to see you again. Breakfast included.
