Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek

Langtang valley with Gosaikunda Trek is a beautiful trek through lush forests, several villages, rare wildlife and panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas. In this trek, we will get an opportunity to see Langtang Himalaya Range, Ganesh Himalaya Range and Annapurna Himalaya Range.

The Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek start by driving from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi. We will pass the many villages in Langtang Valley. After exploring the Langtang valley, we trek to Gosaikunda. Laurebina Hill is the best view point for Mountains. After passing the hill we will see some beautiful lake that is Gosaikunda. Gosaikunda is a well-regarded pilgrimage place for both Buddhists and Hindus. The myth of the Gosaikunda is related to Hindu God Shiva and Buddhist Mong and Shamans. Moreover, the water of Gosaikunda Lake is believed to be religious holy water. We trek continue to Helambu region through Laurebina Pass. Our trek will finish at Sundarijal, Kathmandu.

The forests in this region have temperate and sub- alpine vegetation. Wildlife includes migratory birds, deer, monkeys, Thar, wild boar and Pika. The Langtang region is declared as Langtang National Park in 1976 and covering approximately 1710 sq  km stretching up to the Tibetan border.

In Langtang Valley, we also climb Kyanjin Ri (shorter hike) or Tserko Ri (longer hike) for excellent sunrise views over the Langtang range. The Langtang valley was once an important trading route to Tibet. We can still see the influence of Tibet in the rich local culture. The Langtang Valley Trek passes through ‘Langtang Village’ which was completely destroyed by the devastating earthquake of 25th April, 2015.
