Karbakeli Eco Trek Overview

Karbakeli Eco Trek is recently explored by local community, Karbakeli Conservation Comity. From this trip we can see Dhaulagiri, Gurju Himal and Annapurna Himalaya range. The trail is full of natural beauty, rich in biodiversity and spirituality.

The indigenous culture and traditions in the villages of Annapurna region and the way of life will be another attraction for the trekkers. We can observe the culture and traditions of local Poon Magar and Gurung people in each villages.

At Kafal Danda of 2,332 meter, idols of gods and goddesses of the Magar community their Chief God Karbakeli Baba, his two wives Himala and Fimala, elder son Ramchan and youngest son Kulchan have been placed.
This starts from Nayapul through Ghandruk, Tadapani, Ghorepani and the famous sunrise at Pun Hill before submerging into the thickets of jungle leading up to Karbakeli.

Karbakeli Eco Trek Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, 1,400 m

We extend our warm welcome to you at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and then transfer to hotel in a private tourist vehicle.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (800 m) by Tourist vehicle – 7 to 8 hours

We get a tourist bus or private vehicle to reach Pokhara, depending on the size of the group. It is a scenic drive along the Trishuli and Marshyangdi River.

Day 3: Drive to Kimche (3 hours) and trek to Ghandrul (1900 m) 2 - hours trek

We will take Jeep from Pokhara to Kimche.  After reaching at Kimche, we trek to beautiful Gurung village Ghandruk. We will visit Gurung museum local village.

Day 4: Trek to Tadapani (2,630 m / 8,630 ft) 3- hours trek

After breakfast, we begin our hiking for Tadapani through rhododendrons forest. A half dozen guesthouses are available at hillock Tadapani.

Day 5: Tadapani to Ghorepani (2,860 m / 9,383 ft) 6-7 hours

Today we have to walk few time ups and downs. The hiking trail is calm, peaceful and beautiful through the jungle, river and spring. We will stay at Ghorepani Deurali, at the saddle with 8,000 meters Mountains View.

Day 6: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Karbakeli Than (2,332 m / 7,650 ft) 5-6 hours

Poon Hill is popular visitor’s park for spectacular view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalaya range. We can observe the deepest George between too high mountains Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We can see many mountains, valleys, ridges and forest from Poon Hill. After enjoying there, we will continue hike to Karbakeli Than.

Day 7: Karbakeli Than to Baisari (1,000 m / 3, 280 ft) 3-4 hours and drive to 3 hours by Jeep

Baisari is located at the bank of Kali Gandaki River. We will meet there with Beni Jomsome highway. Everyday hundreds of vehicles pass on that corridor. We will take Jeep from Baisari to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel, breakfast and lunch included.

Day 8: Free day in Pokhara

 

Pokhara is beautiful touristic city of Nepal. You can enjoy with many activities as boating in Phewa lake, paragliding, sightseeing around Pokhara. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 9: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft) 7 hours

Today in the morning we get tourist bus for Kathmandu.

Day 10: Transfer to the International Airport

The tour concludes. We will drop you at the international airport in Kathmandu for your departure.

Q1: How difficult is Karbakeli Eco Trek?

Karbakeli Eco Trek is relatively easier and shorter in duration than the Everest Base Camp Trek. Trekkers do not require technical training or rock climbing and mountaineering skills but you need to be physically fitness to hike 6 to 7 hours daily.

Q2: What is the best time to do the Karbakeli Eco Trek?

The best months to do the Karbakeli Eco Trek is February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December. During these months, the weather is generally favorable with clear skies and mild temperatures, making for optimal trekking conditions and stunning mountain views.

Q3: Who are my Guides and Porters?

Our trekking guides are trained and hold a trekking guide license issued by the Nepalese government. All of our guides are local with a deep understanding of the mountains, culture, health and your safety. All of our guides are skilled, experienced, courteous and helpful. They are proficient in English and will be able to communicate effectively with you throughout the trip.

Q4: What type of Foods available during the trek?

You can get verity of meals including typical Nepali Dal Bhat (Rice, Curry and lentils), breads, noodles, soups, eggs, toast, potato varieties, pizza, pasta, burger items are common choices in the menu. Breakfast and dinner will be served from tea house or lodge where we stay overnight and lunch will be served on the way to next destination. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included during the Karbakeli Eco Trek.

Q5: What about Drinking Water?

Boiled water and safe drinking water options are available along the trekking route. We do not recommend you drink water from local sources such as taps, wells, and rivers.

Q6: What types of Accommodations available?

You will be accommodated in 3 or 2 star level hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara. During the trek, you will have a private room in guesthouses and lodges.

Q7: Do I need Travel Insurance?

Yes, it is necessary to have insurance to join this Karbakeli Eco Trek. Your insurance should cover cost of Helicopter rescue and treatment.

Q8: Do I need Day Backpack?

Yes, while porters can carry the majority of your belongings, it’s recommended to carry a small day backpack yourself. This backpack can hold essentials such as drinking water, snacks, sunscreen, camera, sunglasses and any other items you may need easy access to during the day hike.

Q9: Is there Porter Luggage Limit?

Yes, trekkers should note that the luggage limit for a porter is 20kg, and typically, there is one porter assigned for every two trekkers. It’s advisable to pack efficiently and within this weight limit to ensure ease of transportation during the trek.
