Nepal’s Largest Lake Rara rated as one of the moderate to adventurous and scenic trekking among other trekking destination, and one of the most unique journeys leading from warm subtropical of Nepalgunj to mediterranean of mid hills alpine landscapes and climate zone, all these drastic change in temperature found only in Himalayan region of Nepal, this makes a drastic change in vegetations and its awesome scenery.
Rara Lake trek leads through many traditional Magar, Thakuri (Chettri) and Bhotia villages famous as traders with Tibet since many centuries and the route of this trek lies on the old Trans Himalayan Trade Route to Tibet.
This remarkable trek starts from with a scenic flight to southwest city at Nepalgunj for transit with another short flight to Jumla the headquarter district of Jumla on route Lake Rara located far North West Nepal. We will enjoy the beautiful scenery of turquoise lake Rara and then trekking back to Jumla via an alternative route over Ghurchi Lagna pass 3,460 meters and Tharamara 3,270 m and then heading back to Jumla and fly back to Kathmandu through Nepalgunj.
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotels
Day 2: Flight to Nepalgunj.
Day 3: Fly to Jumla 2,370 m trek to Charya Chaur 2,800m- 4 hrs
Day 4: Trek to Botan via unnamed pass at 3,500 m – 6 hrs
Day 5: Trek to Botan 2, 680m via Sinja Khola 2,440 m -6 hrs
Day 6: Trek to Ghorasain near Rara Lake 3,190 m – 4 hrs
Day 7: Trek to Rara Lake 2,980 m – 6 hrs
Day 8: At Rara Lake rest day for excursion around the lake
Day 9: Trek to Pina 2,580m via Jhyari – 5 hrs
Day 10: Trek to Chauta 2,770 m via Ghurchi Lagna pass 3,460 m
Day 11: Trek to Tharamara 3,270 m – 6 hrs
Day 12: Trek back to Jumla – 6 hrs
Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj and transfer to hotel
Day 14: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour
Day 15: Transfer to international departure
